The Vale of Llangollen is the only inland course in North Wales to hold HSBC Gold Status. It’s not hard to see why golfers from far and wide come to play this course. Lush fairways hug the fertile valley floor beside the River Dee. The greens are well manicured and there are many challenging holes, including the 9th “river hole” which is regarded as one of the best in Welsh golf. At least it’s an easy walk, with spectacular views of the ancient Welsh hills along the way.

If you’re there in July, you may just hear a Welsh male voice choir or two participating in the International Musical Eisteddford – an annual event in Llangollen.
